HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

Our First Aid Training Sydney courses will provide the necessary First Aid Training to save a life in an emergency situation. You will gain the confidence necessary to be in control in a life and death situation and administer the correct procedure to the patient.

In order to ensure the safety of all students, training is now online. At the completion of the online training a brief face to face assessment is performed. Each assessment is conducted individually.

First Aid Training Sydney
Some of the professions that may need this First Aid certificate for their profession include:

  • Teachers
  • Childcare workers
  • Nurses
  • Fitness instructors
  • Anyone requiring a First Aid certificate

The course comprises:

  1. Enhanced online learning
  2. Online multiple choice questions
  3. Brief face to face assessment

You will be assessed on performing first aid scenario and task demonstrations for:

  • Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
  • Complete a first aid incident report form based on the simulated first aid scenario
  • Perform CPR on an infant
  • Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis
  • Manage a casualty with asthma
  • Manage a choking casualty
  • Manage a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock, requiring minor wound cleaning
  • Manage a casualty with a nosebleed
  • Manage a casualty with a fracture and dislocation
  • Manage a casualty with a sprain and strain
  • Manage a casualty with envenomation (snake/ funnel-web spider bite)

Adult CPR

Performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.

Certificates

Upon successful course completion students receive an Nationally Recognised First Aid certificate for:

  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation – valid for 12 months from the date of issue
  • HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support – valid for 3 years from the date of issue
  • HLTAID011 Provide first aid – valid for 3 years from the date of issue

Cost

$130 per person (with face to face assessment)

Course Time

Online training: up to 2 – 3 hours
Online assessment: about 30 mins
Face to face assessment: 60 minutes

Location

The assessments are normally in Heathcote or in location of choice for group bookings.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Completing any vocational education course in Australia, it is a requirement for you to obtain and supply a USI. This is obtainable from usi.gov.au If a USI is not supplied and verified with usi.gov.au a certificate cannot be issued to you.

If you are under 18 years of age

It is a requirement that parental/guardian consent is obtained for students under the age of 18 to be able to participate in a course.

HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

This First Aid Training Sydney course teaches the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This course is developed for existing workers in the industry who may require CPR training as recommended by the ARC. There are also specific industries that require additional training such as childcare workers, school teachers and other industries.

The HLTAID competency standards require a level of physical ability to provide resuscitation and respond to an emergency situation where there may be risk to life. One requirement of the training package is that you are to be assessed as physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on an adult CPR manikin placed on the floor.
Infant CPR
The course comprises:

  1. Enhanced online learning
  2. Online multiple choice questions
  3. Brief face to face assessment

You will be assessed on responding to first aid scenario and task demonstrations for:

Adult CPR

Performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.

Infant CPR

Responded to a first aid scenario and performed at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles both compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface;

Defibrillation

Followed the prompts of an automated external defibrillator (AED)

Upon successful course completion students receive a Nationally Recognised Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate for:

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – valid for 12 months from the date of issue
